Since playing battlefield 3, and generally noticing my graphics card is running hotter than I want it, but it not TOO bad, I decided to take out the Audio/Lan card that came with my Asus Rampage III Black Edition motherboard, and move my graphics card down a few PCI slots so it was getting more direct air from my side panel fan.

I also added my case GPU duct with some random fan that was from my brothers old PC which did the job. It is lowered the temperatures by about 8-10 degrees which is not too bad. I mainly wanted to get the Audio/Lan card I had out of the case as I was only using it for the so called Internet connection for gamers. BS

With addition to the work inside the case, I also have EVGA precision program running on windows start up which I can set certain fan speeds depending on the temperature. Fan speeds can get a bit noisy but I can put up with it.

Here are some pictures. I know you're jelly of one of my monitors being DVI to VGA converter.
Xias, Kiemo and Sporkeh run Blackwing Lair after gear to transmog. This video is mainly a test however, to see what sort of time it took to render and upload a video of this length.

This shall decide if I can be fucked to upload videos in the future of this length or just stick to 10-15 minute uploads. It will be better for our new Saints Row 3 game play series to be longer than normal.. but I shall see!

So with my internet being bad (once again) from 1pm until now (about 10pm) and with the announcement of virgin media to throttle broadband speeds by up to half, everything is a bit shit. Putting any plans of uploading/streaming or downloading games/updates down the shitter. I am not sure is the 5GB cap will effect me or not, but then again I am not the only person using the internet in the house.

This has been my speed for today

This is my speed test this morning

So turns out even past 9pm the cap was not lifted until early this morning.

The rare occasion when VM speed does goes give OK results, I get 28mb up and about 3mb down with 18-30 ping. I have the 30mb line. Maybe they will think about fixing it tomorrow, who knows?

The whole virgin media doubling speeds thing was way too good to be true, and I think Dick Branson needs a sword in the face. That is all.

So I have been playing around with xsplit and own3d. At the start it was very kind of.. working one minute.. and not working the next.. or just not working for no reason.. But I think I have some settings where for about 5-10 minutes, I was playing what I was streaming, whilst watching the output on the stream channel.. and it seemed clear enough + there was no lag for me in game..

The only problem now if I get some other people to confirm the stream looks reasonable.. is xsplit has no fucking push to talk button. It only has a 'toggle mic' bind you can set up which just seems retarded.

I have seen work arounds http://www.xsplit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1631 but the download link is not available, and it sounds dodgy tbh. If anyone has any ideas I would love to know.

I will update this list as and when so you can get an idea of what content you can expect, and depending on who is around to play. If were not going to have fun playing it, we wont do it. It makes sense to just do the generic youtuber thing and do minecraft and cod, and fair play to people who have pulled this off with popular channels, but you never know..
( Our recordings will mostly have 2+ people all the time )
- Saints Row 3 Coop

Going to be yet more changes around the site and community, I no longer have the time or effort to keep fucking about with sponsors and running/managing servers. I am going to start uploading videos of whatever we happen to be playing, and we encourage anyone else to do the same and share your videos on the forums!

I want to set up a separate (which may turn out to be the home page for the community) blog where myself and a few other people may want to post some videos, rants, or just typing shit for whatever reason. I guess a good thing to do would be to start pushing out videos and getting involved with partnership, but too much time and dedication needs to be put in which I do not have . (Google being greedy bastards banned my adsence a few years back just before I was going to withdraw the money I had made, (some invalid clicks BS..?) but I still have the option to try again on the community youtube account which uses a different email if the community starts to grow)

I don't know how these popular you tubers can just rely on their videos to make an income but fair play to them. I can just imagine shit going wrong a few months down the line, then your faced with having to get a more 'normal' job. However if it all pays off, like Prosyndicate whos videos I have been watching for a while now, it would be an amazing experience.
I am however reluctant to do any work on it until the full release of minecraft in November when there will be huge updates to bukkit and all the other plugins.
More things to come is the continued work on videos, live streams, and future game releases could mean starting up some guilds in games such as Guild Wars 2 which is coming in 2012 I believe (BETA in 2011?) .
If, like us, you felt that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 were just incremental updates not worth the price of admission, you might want to think again. Rockstar Games have just announced that Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Anniversary Edition is destined for touch screen devices – but only the newest of the new. iOS gamers will need to own something that sports the A5 chip, and Android gamers will only be able to play on the Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, and Samsung Galaxy S2 (or if you’re on an Android tablet, an Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom, or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1).

No real details about the game itself are known at this point, but if we had to speculate, we’d expect the release to contain the original game with cleaned up visuals and straight-forward touch screen controls, and maybe some of the tweaks found in later games, like the ability to swim. Who knows? Maybe they’ll even throw in the content from the PSP release Liberty City Stories as a bonus.

Love it or hate it, Grand Theft Auto III redefined action gameplay and in-game storytelling. Even now, ten years later, it’s not going to be suitable for everyone – but for those it appeals to, this might just become the biggest mobile release of the year.

As of this writing, the release window is simply “this fall.” But considering this is the 10th anniversary release and the original was released on October 22, 2001, don’t be surprised if you get your hands on this one in the next 10 days. And if we’re wrong? Well... you can always pass the time with their earlier mobile release, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Or just spend it in line at the Apple Store, begging for that 4S you’d previously written off as unnecessary.

According to an anonymous report BF3Blog received from inside Valve, the developer/publisher is currently in late-stage talks with EA in bringing Battlefield 3 to the Steam digital distribution service. The rumor says that Battlefield 3 would be available on Steam just in time for the game’s release on October 25.

According to the report, EA and Valve are very close to reaching an agreement regarding sales of DLC content, which is the main reason Battlefield 3 is not on Steam: Valve requires that all DLC is sold through Steam, while EA would prefer to sell via its own channels. This was the cause of another EA title, Crysis 2, for being pulled from Steam earlier this year.

Many PC gamers have lobbied both EA and Valve to put Battlefield 3 on Steam for a while now. It looks like it’ll finally happen soon.

We’ve reached out to EA and Valve for a comment on this story.

APB Reloaded Devs Fighting Cheaters With Fire

Cheating always seems to come as part of the package when playing an online game. The developers of the reborn urban combat based MMO, APB Reloaded have recently stepped up their attempts to destroy cheaters, people who regularly make games unfun to play or just people who took the “criminal” side of the game a bit too seriously. An awesome message on their Dev Blog serves as a bold warning to hackers who attempt to permeate their free to play MMO.

They recently launched a patch, Patch 130, which apparently killed almost every single cheater that had cheats installed from one of the three main groups that apparently work to hack the game. That is awesome news in itself. But the Devs took it even further.

They watched like predators and finally pounced on their prey, eliminating large swarths of cheaters, permanently banning people left and right. What is more amusing though, are the cheaters’ responses. The developers seem to have heard every excuse from the books, and they don’t really care if your friend gave you his cheating account, you’re done on their game if you cheated.

The Devs are not totally without mercy however, and are apparently offering amnesty. However, with their generocity comes a price to be paid in order to return to the world of APB. If you’ve cheated, you must prove you’re remorseful, first by uninstalling the cheats (which in some cases were root-kits) and then proceed to play cleanly, then they may (and the Devs stressed MAY) let you back into the game.

I wondered why anyone would cheat in a free to play game, and further, what could the consequences be? Well the developers have stated that almost 50% of the players banned were paid players, and that some had even spent large amounts of cash or played some around 1500 hours of the game. This alone raises large amounts of “WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?” questions, but, who knows with the mind of a cheater.

Kudos to the developers of APB: Reloaded for taking a hardline stance on cheating and apparently sticking to this. It seems like it is one of those things you always hear about, but never really see anything done about. There are some pretty amusing tears shed by the hackers on their forums that the developers have posted on their blog, but I wont repost them here. Some of them contain some pretty strong language and even stronger tears.

CSGO on PC to be “different beast” than console versions

News of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s existence was met by an incredibly confusing mix of emotions from PC gamers. A new Counter-Strike? Yay! But wait, it’s gracing the unwashed, teabag-happy console masses with its presence? Boo. Also, Global Offensive? Isn’t that the one MMO with the jetpacks? No, wait. That’s a different thing. Like I said: confusing.

Fortunately, Valve assures that it’s not going to let console players rain grenades on your parade. The PC version, explained Valve’s Chet Faliszek, isn’t trying to be something it’s not.

“Yeah, so in some ways the PC will be a different beast anyway,” he told Strategy Informer. “There will be servers that we control, but then on the PC there will also be support custom servers, and at that point they’ll be able to mod the game. The way it’s set up now on CSS… you could enter a game and have no idea if the guys are going to be surfing whilst they’re shooting, or doing other crazy stuff. So we want to there to be a basic core experience, and equally if you want to go mod, you can.”

“We’ve been talking to the community, and we’re actually going to be incorporating ‘Gun Game’ into CSGO itself, as that’s the most popular mod out there at the moment, we wanted to give people a chance to approach the game from that angle.”

Interestingly, PC’s also the only platform getting any sort of CSGO beta, because console betas, well, aren’t real.

“That’s why we’re showing it on PS3, and why we showed at PAX on the 360, it’s the only way those guys are going to get to play it,” Faliszek said. “The PC Beta will be extended longer, because it’s not really a good model for doing betas, real betas, on the console. Other console betas have been more promotional demos. What we’re saying is that we want to do a beta that’s constantly changing and updating based on player feedback.”

Ah yes, yet another perk of being a member of gaming’s savviest, most mature community. So in your pockmarked prepubescent faces, console gamers! Er, I mean, fine wine, classic jazz music, and other mature… things. Right.
